Ras Beats!

If you're tired of the same ole' thang, head over to Ras Beats's place and check his new free mix. Lots of freshly-sliced-n-diced treats from Large Pro, Ghostface and more. Maybe there's a future DWG 45 in there?

Alias III

The Rhyme Traveller raids yo' daddy's crates and unearths another little-known gem for you to enjoy this week.

There's another Lucky Dip coming shortly, from our main man Drew Huge.

And keep your eyes on here for the announcement of DWG006. We think you're gonna like this one.

A little pre-Xmas addition...

Whilst we're busy behind the scenes at DWG (cooking up the next batch of Special Project releases, due in early 2010), our man Werner has been making sure things keep hot in the reviews section.

Check out a lesser-known Kane 12", this time with a rather unexpected guest MC...

If we don't update before (hey, you never know!), all of us at DWG wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Yet again, we thank you all for your continued support throughout 2009: very much appreciated.

Reviews cold in EFFECT...

It's been a long minute, but if you've not been keeping up, then you've got two new pieces to read today.

Rhyme Traveller dropped this little treat a few weeks back, and Werner got busy with this slice of late '90s obscurity.

And, as soon as I've caught my breath, there's something new from Grandaddy Drew (Huge) comin' too. All cylinders fired.

It's a Breeze...

Werner probably needs dousing in cold water, as he's literally on fire right now...

Another great review, this time of something by someone who never gets the appreciation he deserves. Definitely check out the audio clips on this one!

Great stuff W!

And, by the way, watch for news of a rather nice mid-summer DWG project release due in the next couple of days. Better clear a little wall space if you can!

Our 50th review! J-Force 'Bull's Eye' 12"

Proudly presenting our 50th review on the DWG site...

Werner gets loose with a nice write-up on J-Force's 'Bull's Eye' 12": one of those dope mid-'90s records that seems to turn up far less than it should do.

Thanks Werner!

Vinyl Addicts Sport ''G'' review is up!

Rare Dave got wild and versatile with a new review in the Albums and EPs area. His long-awaited Sport ''G'' and Mastermind EP write-up gives the duo's previously-unreleased EP a light grilling.

if you slept on picking this dope EP up, then get yo'self over the Vinyl Addicts site and see if they're holding any in stock.

The Rhyme Traveller has also submitted something dope for the UK heads, which we'll be posting up on the site later this week.

And... y'know what? We just gone updated the chart over there on the right too. Bank holidays are for wimps.

New DWG Chart: May 2009

Time for an update on the chart over there on the right -->

Nominations courtesy of the DWG collective: Rare Dave, Drew Huge, Dudley Jaynes and Werner (Shaker's gone AWOL in deepest South America).

I might have snuck a couple of titles in there too. New reviews coming this weekend!

Werner Von Wallenrod steps up!

2009 is where we took a minute to turn the spotlight back onto the main part of the DWG site once again. As much as we love our forum and the special projects, the website is the backbone of where we began.

As fans of both Drew Huge and Dudley Jaynes's writings, we were honoured when they joined the editorial team earlier this spring. And now we're extremely proud to add Werner Von Wallenrod to the ranks.

Werner's been doing his thing for years - as far back as when I started Spinemagazine.com - so it's great to have him here. To start his contributions off - and with something a little more eclectic than you may expect - he's penned us a killer cLOUDDEAD review right here...
